Photo Guestbook

Picture
I had gotten a coupon for a free photo book from David's Bridal when I bought my dress, so we planned on using it to put our engagement pictures into it and make a photo guestbook out of it. We finally uploaded our pictures from my semi-engagement photo session, our snowboarding trip, our six flags trip, our first Christmas together, etc. and left space around our photos for guests to write notes in. We wanted out guest book to be something that we would look back on and not just throw in a box somewhere. The kicker is that when we went to use our coupon that did not have an expiration day had just expired. I was almost in tears, but my Fiance knew how much it meant to me, so he went ahead and paid the $80 for it. It was way worth it, but we did get another coupon that we can use to make a book after the wedding. I'm pretty excited about that to make up for it.

Cake Table Letters

Picture
I bought the letters at Hobby Lobby for less than $2 each and I already had the rhinestones and silver spray paint at home. It took me forever to glue on those little rhinestones even though I didn't even do that many. I'm pretty excited about them. They came out a little better than I thought they would.

Door Hangers

Picture
I bought the door hangers at Hobby Lobby in a pack of 6 for about $5. I spray painted the red one to be silver because it looked pretty tacky, but it was still part of our color scheme. I bought the letters and decorations in the scrapbooking section for about $3 or less each. Surprisingly, David really liked them.

Dyed Slip [tub method]

Picture
Here is the final product and I am a lot more satisfied than I expected I would be.
Step 1] Prewash the slip/crinoline and keep it damp, but not soaking wet.
Step 2] Lay plastic sheets (as if for painting, etc.) in the bathtub to avoid the unfortunate splashes.
Step 3] Place the large bin in the tub and fill with veryyy hot water about 3/4 of the way full.
Step 4] Pour liquid RIT dye into the hot water and mix around USING a long rubber glove. (cleaning gloves work well and make sure to take your rings off, ladies)
Step 5] Carefully place the slip/crinoline into the mixture, making sure that it is not tangled.
Step 6] Mix the item around with the glove to "agitate" for approximately 30 minutes.
Step 7] Carefully empty the large bin. **WARNING** the tub may stain slightly so be sure to have bleach or tub cleaner on hand. (I left a little bleach on for a few minutes and rinsed and it came off, but I also didn't have the plastic tarps to put down.)
Step 8] Rinse the garment until the water runs clear.
Step 9] Wash the garment in a warm cycle with any other towels you may have used to clean or wipe up drips and splashes.
Step 10] Hang to dry

Rhinestoned Shoes

Picture
This is the finished product. 1] Printed out letters "A" and "H" in Chopin Script at size 76. 2] Used pin to poke holes through the letters onto the shoes 3] took the paper off 4] Used paperclip to place a dot of glue on the shoes and immediately placed a rhinestone on the glue 5] Fixed up the mistakes and cleaned up

Personalized Toasting Flutes

Picture
I will have the picture up of the finished product when I complete it, but here are pictures of the beginning stages.. The first (and only currently) is of the 10 toasting flutes I plan to personalized with names and titles as soon as I find the time to print out all of the names and build up the confidence to use the pen I bought to write on the glass.

Centerpieces [Variety]

Picture
So, with the help of my great aunt, who is so gracious and willing to help, we've been able to agree on a variety of centerpieces. She's been going to the store almost every day to buy new materials and send me pictures of new things. Here are our ideas so far..

Chocolate Covered Pretzels- Wedding Favors

Picture
So, David and I did a trial run of our chocolate covered pretzels. We plan on buying black, white, and red colored chocolate from Michael's to match our theme, but our trial run with chocolate and health bits turned out pretty tasty and I'm starting to feel like things are coming together for our favors. Our next step is our Love Songs CD for the guests as well.

The beginning of invitations...

Picture
So, here are just the supplies for the invitations. I still have to design the layout and take them somewhere to have them printed. Hopefully this will get done in the next few weeks or so! The pictures are of: 1] all of the supplies packaged in the box 2] the supplies laid out 3] our first mock-up of our invitation base, sadly in black and white 4] our Amanda & David monograms 5] the design that I'm trying to imitate ..... there will be more as I work on the project.

CD Favors

Picture
For our CD Favors, we chose songs that were either reflective of our personalities, our favorite love songs, or songs that were inside jokes of ours. Yes, most of them are country, but they seem to describe our relationship the most, and country is my personal favorite. We'll be putting the CDs in black square envelopes and have a design on the CD labels. We're also going to be putting a poem on the back of the envelopes or thinking of putting it on cardstock with the playlist on the opposite side. I still haven't quite decided yet. I still have time to do it.

Here is our song list:
  1. I Swear - John Michael Montgomery
  2. Toes - Zac Brown Band   (This is one of those inside joke songs. I used to listen to this song allll the time and so whenever it would come on, he would turn it up louder and it was our song before we were actually together)
  3. Bob and Bonnie - Houston Calls   (This is one of his favorite songs. He loves The Princess Bride and this song mentions it in the lyrics and he just really likes it)
  4. Amazed - Lonestar
  5. Check Yes or No - Tim McGraw
  6. I Knew I Loved You - Savage Garden
  7. Gimmie That Girl - Joe Nichols
  8. I'm Yours - Jason Mraz
  9. Her Eyes - Pat Monahan   (This song is almost a reflection of my personality.. it's great)
  10. My Wish - Rascal Flatts
  11. Kiss a Girl - Keith Urban
  12. Your Love is My Drug - Ke$ha   (This is the song that David sings to me in the car in his goofy, lovey, way. I just can't resist having this song on our CD)
  13. I'll Be (Acoustic) - Edwin McCain
  14. This Everyday Love - Rascal Flatts
  15. She Said Yes - Brad Paisley

Rhinestoned Shirts/Sweatshirt

Picture
I plan on rhinestoning or at least ironing letters on of my bridesmaids' names onto red & black shirts and I will have a red zip-up sweatshirt with my new last name on it for the day of the wedding. I'm hoping I'll have enough rhinestones to at least add some bling.
